The story
After a runin with a man, Dexter initiates a friendship with his brother, Assistant District Attorney Miguel Prado. In the meantime, Rita discovers that she is pregnant, and Debra investigates the murders of a new serial killer, called "The Skinner," hoping to gain a promotion to detective.

Dexter kills a man in a struggle while hunting a drug dealer, and the dead man turns out to be the brother of Miguel Prado, a star assistant district attorney. Miguel learns Dexter killed the dealer and, instead of turning him in, wants to join him. Dexter takes him on as a friend and student of the code. Rita gets pregnant and Dexter proposes. Debra hunts the Skinner, a killer who tortures his victims.
Dexter: Season 3 ending explained
Miguel breaks the code and murders a defence lawyer who had crossed him, so Dexter kills him and makes it look like the Skinner's work. The Skinner captures Dexter, who escapes and kills him. Dexter marries Rita.
