Spring Breakers recap
Spring Breakers (2012) follows four broke Florida college students who rob a diner to pay for spring break and fall in with a drug dealer on the coast. Harmony Korine directs. Faith (Selena Gomez), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Brit (Ashley Benson) and Cotty (Rachel Korine) wear ski masks and use water pistols and hammers for the robbery, then head to St. Petersburg for a haze of beach parties. Police arrest all four at a party, and a rapper and dealer who calls himself Alien (James Franco) pays their bail. Faith, uneasy around him and his crowd, takes the bus home. Alien shows off his guns and cash, the remaining three join him on a string of armed robberies, and a drive by shooting from his rival and former friend Big Arch (Gucci Mane) wounds Cotty, who also goes home. The story stands alone and has no sequel.
Spring Breakers ending explained
Spring Breakers ends with Brit and Candy wiping out Big Arch's operation after Alien is shot dead the moment they land at the rival's dock. In neon bikinis and pink ski masks, the two women walk through the mansion killing the guards and finally Big Arch himself. They drive away in his Lamborghini, heading back home, while their voices repeat the dreamy spring break monologue heard earlier. A brief flashback shows them kissing Alien's body before leaving. A sequel, Spring Breakers: The Second Coming, was announced in 2014 with Jonas Åkerlund directing, then shelved.
