Die Hard with a Vengeance recap

A department store blows up in Manhattan, and a bomber calling himself Simon demands that John McClane, suspended and hung over, do as he says. Simon sends McClane to Harlem wearing an offensive sign, where an electrician named Zeus Carver saves his life, and the two are forced together on a string of riddles and races across the city. Simon is Simon Gruber, brother of Hans from the first Die Hard. While the police search for a bomb hidden in a school, Simon's men empty the Federal Reserve Bank of billions in gold bullion through a subway tunnel. McClane and Zeus survive a flood in an aqueduct and find the gold on a ship.

Die Hard with a Vengeance ending explained
